For more than four decades, Matt and Linda Craig’s lives have been filled with the love and companionship of animals. Their story with the SPCA of Texas began shortly after they were married, when they adopted their very first dog together. Over the years, their home has been graced with many adopted pets, each one a cherished member of the family.
In those early years, the Craigs admit they didn’t have the means to give much financially. What they did have, however, was a deep appreciation for the animals who brought them joy and for the SPCA of Texas, which helped them rehome strays they encountered in their community. That partnership of trust and support planted a seed that has grown into a lifelong commitment.
When asked about their “why,” Matt and Linda are quick to point to the tangible impact they’ve seen over the years. “It’s because of all the good work they do,” Matt shared. “They fulfill a great need. We’re fortunate to give and SPCA of Texas is worth supporting.” Their generosity now plays a vital role in ensuring animals receive the care, shelter, and love they deserve.
Being part of this mission brings the Craigs a quiet sense of fulfillment. As Matt put it simply, “Just glad to be able to give back.” Their humility speaks volumes, reflecting the heart of donors who understand that every gift—big or small—creates ripples of change for animals in need.
The SPCA of Texas is proud to honor Matt and Linda Craig for their decades of compassion and generosity. Their story reminds us that the journey of giving often begins with one small act of love and grows into a legacy of hope for countless animals.
