Thank you for helping us fulfill our mission of providing love, safety, and compassionate care to animals in need! Your support truly makes a world of difference—just ask Branwen!
When Branwen first arrived at the SPCA of Texas, it was clear she had endured more than her fair share of hardship. She was unable to bear weight on her front left leg, and she had been licking at painful sores caused by her condition. Despite her discomfort, her gentle eyes revealed a spirit that longed for comfort and care.
Our dedicated veterinary team quickly jumped into action, conducting a full examination and taking radiographs. The results confirmed what we feared: Branwen had significant neurologic damage in her leg. To help her heal and keep her wounds protected, she was fitted with a cone and prescribed pain medication while awaiting her scheduled amputation surgery. Though her path forward was challenging, Branwen faced each step with quiet resilience, supported every moment by the SPCA team who refused to give up on her.
Life before Branwen’s arrival had clearly been filled with struggles, but her story began to transform the moment she came into our care. Her strength—and the love poured into her by staff, volunteers, and foster caregivers—helped her through recovery and prepared her for the next chapter of her journey.
That new chapter began when Branwen found her forever family. Her adopters happily shared this heartwarming update: “She has adjusted well and is spoiled to death! She hasn’t had any problems recovering from her amputation.”
Stories like Branwen’s are only possible because of the generosity of our community. Your donations and volunteer hours give animals like her the chance to heal, recover, and find homes filled with love. Thank you for making happy endings like Branwen’s possible!
