He was very gentle while taking treats and playing with our dog, and 3 kids (9yo, 12yo and 16yo). Loved belly rubs, laying his head in the kids lap for petting and brushing. Maxx loves to play fetch with all sizes of balls (including a volleyball! 🙂 and sticks. Wasn't sure what to think about a frisbee. Maxx was excellent at matching our 7yo dogs energy level and recognizing when it was playtime and when it was rest time. Maxx knew playtime was outdoors and indoors was more of a chill environment. Maxx loved having human interaction and being talked to.His behavior was always immediately redirected just at the mention of softly saying 'no'.No behavior issues with adults, kids or our fur kid. No potty accidents. Never tried getting on the furniture. Excellent car rider - jumped right in and got in his seat. While we ate, Maxx laid down at a short distance and watched; never begged for food. At his meal times he ate very casually at a 'chew and enjoy pace,'.Both pups were left at home for appx 1.5 hrs while we attended church - and came home to a warm welcome back with kisses - no accidents and nothing out of its place!!Maxx did really well and will be an extra special addition to a deserving family!Cont. to work on is a required field - selected leash walking though it was not an issue for us; he will chase the squirrels 🙂Borrow a Buddy Notes:The Highlight of our Day Out Maxx was a joy to have out on BAB! He was curious about his surroundings and sometimes needed a slight tug to get him back on track. We passed by several people, dogs, and bikes and he behaved very well. He loves treats and knows how to sit when asked. He did need some assistance getting in/out of the car, and rode very well and enjoyed sticking his head out the window. He is very sweet and friendly and would do well with a family who can give him plenty of exercise and love.FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: Had to assist Pep when loading into the car, and accepted the assist very well. He was looked out the windows & was very curious about his trip. Pep walked well on leash and we took the lead on the hike so that a couple other dogs would follow. We went into a new pet shop where he had a pup cup that he really enjoyed! It was a really nice day out, but he started to tire of walking, so we went back to the shelter and greeted people entering the lobby for a little while before I took him back to his holding to rest. He was a very loving, great companion and will be a perfect couch potato for a family with or without other dogs and kids. He jumped into the car by himself and did a fantastic job riding in the backseat. He seems to be house broken - he took all of his potty breaks outside. When we got to the nursing home he was very excited to walk around and meet everyone. He enjoyed getting pets and eating some treats (he takes treats very gently). He knows the sit command and because he loves treats and is very smart, I think he'd be really easy to teach other commands.
