Hello there! I'm Lucy, a sweet senior girl who is a little nervous about my new living environment in the shelter. I came from a real home for several years and this is a bit difficult to get used to. I love sniff walks and know "stay", "down", and "come" commands. I like treats (maybe a bit too much!) and they think I am probably house-trained. I'm having some skin issues though, but the nice vets are helping it get better. I'm really hoping someone will take me into there home so I can heal more quickly with calmer nerves. I promise I won't be any trouble. I just need a cozy place to sleep and a little attention. I'm also dog-friendly and have enjoyed meeting other dogs in play group. We walked around Fair Park, Deep Ellum and finally Klyde Warren where we had pizza that was delicious.Every step of the way Dually was so sweet and lovable. He loves people and wants to meet everyone. His tail wags so hard when he meets someone new he can barely stand up. He walks perfect on the leash until he sees someone he wants to pet him. Then, of course, he pulls to get over to them as fast as possible. It is no problem pulling him away if the human does not want to interact but I'm certain it hurts his little dog feelings. He steps up and continues on to the next interesting person or thing to check out. He's a puppy and being out of the shelter is like opening a new door of amazing new sounds and things to see. He is very curious and cooperative with whatever you want to do. Going to three places required entering and leaving the car several times. He was completely focused. He walked, sniffed all the good stuff. Not everything, just those things that must have been special. I say that because he didn't sniff every blade of grass. It was nice to be able to stroll. He noticed humans and dogs but was for the most part oblivious. He walked well on the leash. He was aware of me and my location at all times. He paid attention to leash clues and followed simple commands that I wouldn't expect him to know necessarily. "This way", "stop" (before crossing the street) and he stayed still while I untied him before exiting the car. They call him a senior but he is far from showing an resemblance to a senior. He completely walked me under the table. I kept up but I was ready to quit before he showed any sign of needing a break.
