SPCA of Texas Clinics Offer Nickel Neuter and Beat the Heat Specials for Cats in March

WHAT:  The SPCA of Texas is excited to offer two specials that make it easy and economical for North Texas residents to have their cats spayed or neutered! On on Thursday, March 24, the SPCA of Texas’ two Dallas clinics will host a Beat the Heat special that offers cat owners the opportunity to have their female cats spayed for just $20! Then, on Thursday, March 31, the same clinics will host Nickel Neuter day, when pet owners may make an appointment to have their male cats neutered for just five cents!

WHEN/WHERE:  The SPCA of Texas' Dallas-area clinics, the Mary Spencer Clinic at Village Fair in South Dallas and the Myron K. Martin Clinic in West Dallas, will spay female cats for just $20 on March 24 and neuter male cats for just a nickel on March 31.
Cat owners must make an appointment and bring proof of rabies vaccinations or the rabies vaccines will be administered at an additional charge on the day of the appointment. Additional charges may apply for cats in heat, pregnant or cryptorchid. All cats must be in carriers. No feral cats, please.

Appointments are required. To make an appointment at any of the two clinics listed below, call 214.742.SPCA (7722) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHY:  Spaying and neutering results in the prevention of millions of unwanted births, preventing pet homelessness. Spaying and neutering also reduces a cat's chances of developing some cancers, diminishes roaming tendencies, can diminish aggression and decreases the urge to mark territory by spraying. If left intact, two unaltered cats can produce more than 80 million cats over a 10-year period, and one male cat can sire an unlimited number of kittens in his lifetime. Have your cats spayed and neutered today and save lives!

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
