SPCA of Texas Celebrates DOGtober
Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month, Featuring 50% Off of All Dog and Puppy Adoptions in October

WHAT:
To celebrate adopt-a-shelter-dog month, the SPCA of Texas is offering 50% off all dog and puppy adoptions to encourage the public to “Fall” in love with a new four-legged family member in October, or DOGtober, at its Dallas and McKinney shelters and Mobile Adoptions Vehicle. The SPCA of Texas currently has almost 90 dogs and puppies awaiting their forever homes. During the month of DOGtober, the organization hopes to find homes for 500 dogs and puppies.

The SPCA of Texas’ two shelters operate on a managed intake basis. That means that animals are not euthanized for space and there are no time limits. "I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
