Less Than Two Weeks Away: The SPCA of Texas Presents Fur Ball 2016: Shedding Light on Their Future
Gala to be held September 24 at the Omni Dallas Hotel

– The SPCA of Texas is thrilled to present Fur Ball 2016, “Shedding Light on Their Future,” to be held on Saturday, September 24 from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at the Omni Dallas Hotel. The elegant, black-tie gala will include dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions for over 1,000 guests. The event is sure to sell out so reserve your tickets today at www.FurBallDallas.com.  Individual tickets are $225 and a table for ten is $2,000. Sponsorships start at $3,000.


The over-the-top live and silent auctions feature more than 300 items at all price levels. Live auction items include fabulous trips, a gorgeous diamond ring, decadent dining and a once-in-a-lifetime experience in a private luxury suite at the American Airlines Center for the sold-out Adele concert on November 2, 2016.


This year’s Fur Ball is raising the bar with headline entertainment by Limelight, a party, variety and dance band that features top flight singers and musicians from around the country.

Karen Urie is the recipient of the 2016 Mary Spencer Humanitarian Award. This award, named for animal advocate extraordinaire Mary Spencer, honors individuals and organizations that have made a significant difference in the lives of animals in North Texas. It was Karen's volunteer effort in 2007 when she served on the Paws Cause event committee that first introduced her to the SPCA of Texas. Since then Karen has been actively involved with a myriad of SPCA of Texas activities and events and is currently a board member. Karen’s voice for animals speaks loud and clear, and the SPCA of Texas is indeed fortunate to have her support. Karen Urie is currently a real estate agent and internal marketing consultant with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate.

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
