Meet Versa!
Versa is a sweet, intelligent 3-year-old girl who was transferred to us from another shelter and is now searching for a foster home where she can complete her heartworm treatment. She is highly treat-motivated, which is a wonderful tool for building trust, reinforcing calm behavior, and helping her continue learning!
Versa is scheduled to receive her second and third heartworm treatment injections on September 29 and September 30. Following these injections, strict rest and limited activity will be extremely important for her recovery. She will need a calm home where she can avoid running, jumping, rough play, and other strenuous activity.
Shelter life has been frustrating for Versa, and she may display reactive behavior or kennel frustration—especially while her heartworm restrictions prevent her from getting the exercise she would normally enjoy. A peaceful home environment would give her the chance to decompress and recover away from the constant stimulation of the shelter.
Versa can get along with other dogs, although her play style may be pushy. Any interactions with resident dogs should be introduced slowly, managed carefully, and kept calm due to her medical restrictions.
Versa needs a patient foster who can help her remain calm, comfortable, and safe throughout treatment. If you can provide this smart, loving girl with a peaceful place to heal, please reach out to our foster team!
