Benedict is only 8 months old, and he urgently needs a break from the shelter. He’s becoming increasingly stressed in his kennel and has started spinning. In the play yard, he often screams or barks when people walk by, approach, or leave. He jumps at the fence, pants, and has a hard time shifting his attention away from it, even when there’s an opportunity to play. The shelter environment is overwhelming him right now.
Benedict has lived in a home before, and outside the shelter he has shown us what a wonderful, well-behaved dog he can be. He returned to us a little older, and we know he’s capable of adjusting to home life. At eight months, he still has so much to learn and experience, and we’d love to give him the space to settle and be himself again.
If you can foster Benedict and give him a break from the shelter, please email foster@spca.org. Our foster team would be happy to tell you more about him and help you decide if he’s a good fit.
