Meet Applesauce, our 4-year-old sweetheart who has been with us since May. She is a loving, affectionate girl who just wants someone to give all that love to, but despite being here for months, she has received very little adoption interest.
Applesauce is generally calm and relaxed in her pod and loves attention from her people. With other dogs, she can be socially assertive and does best with confident dogs who can appropriately communicate and give her corrections. She is currently approved for small, structured playdates rather than larger playgroups so we can set her up for success.
Unfortunately, her long stay is beginning to take a serious toll on her. Applesauce is now showing increasing fear and anxiety in the shelter. We’ve seen her tucked into the corner of her pod shaking, with her ears back, tail tucked, and whale eyes—even around familiar people. This sweet girl has been here for months, and she’s telling us that she’s had enough.
Applesauce needs out of the shelter and into a foster home where she can decompress, feel safe, and finally relax. She has so much love to give; she just needs someone willing to give her the chance to show it. If you can foster Applesauce, please reach out to the Foster Team.
