You can also donate to the SPCA of Texas through Clear the Shelters HERE beginning August 1! \nClear The Shelters\, NBCUniversal Local’s nationwide pet adoption and donation initiative – which has helped more than one million pets find new homes and raised millions of dollars for participating animal shelters and rescues since its 2015 inception – is returning for its milestone 10th annual campaign this Aug. 10 to Sept. 10. As part of the monthlong 10th anniversary Clear The Shelters\, NBC and Telemundo stations across the nation are partnering with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to promote pet adoption and raise critical funds for participating shelters and rescues. Friends are welcome to join\, so bring along anyone who shares your passion for animal welfare! \nAbout the Speaker: Courtney Burns\, CAWA \nCourtney Burns brings over 23 years of passion and expertise to the animal welfare field and has been a vital part of the SPCA of Texas since 2010. As the Chief Investigator of the SPCA of Texas’ Animal Cruelty Investigations (ACI) Unit\, she leads a dedicated team of investigators authorized to conduct criminal investigations throughout the state. Under her leadership\, the ACI Unit responds to more than 3\,000 cases of cruelty each year\, making a significant impact on animal welfare in Texas. Throughout her career\, Courtney has excelled in various roles\, including animal sheltering\, field operations\, disaster response\, and animal cruelty investigations. Meet some animals in need of fosters\, meet other foster parents\, and learn how to help shelter animals in need by fostering!
